2024 COLLEGE SPORTS COMMUNICATIORS ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN® MEN'S AT-LARGE TEAM

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Jose Carletta (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Rioclaro) of the Indian Hills Men's Golf team has been named a 2024 Second-Team Academic All-American®, announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Wednesday.

Carletta is one of just 23 individuals across the country named to the Academic All-American® Men's At-Large College Division team which recognizes student-athletes from two-year and Canadian institutions.

"Jose is a very hard-working student-athlete," stated Indian Hills Men's Golf Head Coach Michael Wetrich. "He is someone that I know he will be giving his best effort on and off the course. I look forward to following Jose's career at the Division I level where he will excel on the course and in the classroom."

Carletta was a part of another dominant season of Indian Hills men's golf. The sophomore captured the individual National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Central District Championship to lead the Warriors to the team title, the program's 13th District championship in school history. Carletta was named to the 2024 NJCAA Division I PING All-American team and was selected to the NJCAA Division I All-District team. At the 2024 NJCAA National Championship in Hobbs, NM, Carletta tied for eighth overall to earn NJCAA Second-Team All-American honors. The two-time Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week, Carletta closed out the season with five consecutive top-10 finishes.

Academically, Carletta was twice named to the ICCAC Academic All-Region 11 First-Team and recently graduated from Indian Hills with an Associate of Arts degree. Carletta was recently named to the CSC Academic All-District® squad as well as the NJCAA All-Academic Third-Team.

Carletta will continue his academic and athletic career at Wichita State University in the fall.

Along with Carletta, Indian Hills Sports Shooting sophomore Mason Herrington (Eldridge, IA/North Scott), Indian Hills Volleyball sophomore Kinga Michalska (Szówsko, Poland/ZSSCHiO), and Indian Hills Softball sophomore Eva Fulk (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) were selected as CSC Academic All-Americans®.
