NO. 20 WARRIORS RUN WIN STREAK TO FOUR

Sioux City, IA – Competing as a nationally ranked team for the first time this season, the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team went on the road to earn a convincing 4-0 victory at Western Iowa Technical Community College. The Warriors move to 4-1-0 overall on the year.

The Warriors, who entered the national rankings for the first time this season at No. 20 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Soccer Poll, scored a pair of goals in each half to run past the Comets and pick up the team's fourth consecutive victory. Indian Hills has outscored its opponents 15-1 during the four-game stretch.

Indian Hills picked up an early goal in the 10th minute from sophomore Ella Forsyth (Grimes, IA/Dallas Center-Grimes) on an assist from Meghan Lorjuste (Montreal, Canada/Ecole Marie-Anne). The Warriors struck again just five minutes later on a strike from sophomore Arnicka Louis (Castries, Saint Lucia/Sir Ira Simmons). Sophomore Mayo Kawashima (Osaka, Japan/Osaka Gakugei) and freshman Momoka Kinoshita (Kagawa, Japan/Kagawa Nishi) were credited with the helpers.

The Warriors maintained the comfortable two-goal advantage until the 66th minute when sophomore Kiara Levac (Sudbury, Canada/E.S.C. I'Horizon) put the match out of reach with a goal on an assist from Forsyth. Freshman Jenevieve Kuriki (Pleasant Hill, IA/Southeast Polk) capped the scoring in the 82nd minute for her first collegiate goal with assists from Kawashima and Forsyth.

Freshman Annabelle Combes (Valence, France/Tezenas du Montcel) was credited with the win in net after going untested for 80 minutes of action before giving way to sophomore Kyrsten DeWees (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa).

Indian Hills returns to action September 10 in a matchup witH Iowa Lakes Community College at the IHCC Soccer Complex in Ottumwa. Wednesday's matchup is part of a doubleheader with the Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad which kicks off at 3:30 PM.
