WARRIORS RISE TO NO. 7 IN NATIONAL POLL

Ottumwa, IA – After a convincing win to remain undefeated, the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team jumped to No. 7 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Soccer rankings, announced Monday afternoon.

The Warriors (11-0-0, 2-0-0) took down No. 4 and previously unbeaten Iowa Western Community College 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to move up from last week's ranking of No. 10. The No. 7 ranking is the best mark in program history for the Warriors.

Indian Hills is now the top-ranked team from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and is just one of three teams across the nation with zero losses and zero ties on the year. The Warriors lead the country in goals scored with 78 on the year and rank eighth overall with a 0.54 goals against average.

The Warriors have put together a full team effort throughout the year on both sides of the ball. Three individuals currently rank in the top-five in the nation in total points in Bailey Wiemann (Burlington, IA/Burlington), Risa Ogasawara (Yokohama, Japan/Hinomoto), and Ikumi Okumura (Edogawa, Japan/Murata). On the defensive front, Hope Ward (Burlington, IA/Burlington Notre Dame) has been flanked by Abbie Bailey (Redditch, England/Arrowvale) and KJ Schmidt (Cedar Rapids, IA/Washington) to help pitch six shutouts on the year.

The Warriors host Black Hawk College – Moline (IL) on Wednesday after at 12:00 PM before the team's Sophomore Day set for 1:00 PM Saturday vs. Iowa Central Community College.
