WARRIORS MOVE UP IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Soccer moved up two spots to No. 11 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Soccer rankings. The Warriors remain undefeated on the year at 8-0-0.

The Warriors are one of eight programs in the national rankings with an undefeated record but currently have the most wins amongst that group. Indian Hills is one of two Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) teams in the rankings, joining undefeated Iowa Western Community College at No. 4.

Indian Hills' impressive stretch to open the season continues as the top scoring team in the nation. The Warriors have scored 63 goals on the year, 26 more than the second-highest total. On the defensive front, the Warriors have conceded just four goals on the year as freshman Trisha Westphal's (Lockridge, IA/Fairfield) 0.50 goals against average ranks 10th nationally.

Equally as impressive for the Warriors, Indian Hills is just one of 18 programs across the 85-team NJCAA DI landscape to not have received a yellow or red card on the year.

On the individual side, the Warriors have relied on a flurry of goal scorers throughout the year. Bailey Wiemann (Burlington, IA/Burlington), Risa Ogasawara (Yokohama, Japan/Hinomoto), and Ikumi Okumura (Edogawa, Japan/Murata) all rank in the top-five nationally in both goals and points.

After a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over Northeast on Sunday night, the Warriors return to action on Sept. 15 at 7:00 PM vs. Hawkeye Community College at Schafer Stadium in Ottumwa.
