WIEMANN EARNS NATIONAL RECOGNITION

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Bailey Wiemann (Burlington, IA/Burlington) of the No. 15 Indian Hills Women's Soccer team has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week.

The nation's current scoring leader, Wiemann has led the Warriors to an undefeated start to begin the year. The sophomore leads the NJCAA with 18 points and 24 shots, and is tied for first in the country with six goals and six assists.

Wiemann scored at least two points in each of the team's first four games to start the season. The forward tallied a hat trick and two assists in the first game of the regular season at East Central College (MO) and added two more in a win over Bryant & Stratton College (WI).

Wiemann, a 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-American, was also named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week,

Overall, the Warriors lead the nation in scoring and currently boast the top three scorers with Wiemann, Risa Ogasawara (Yokohama, Japan/Hinomoto), and Ikumi Okumura (Edogawa, Japan/Murata).

The Warriors return home on Saturday to take on NIACC at 1:00 PM at Schafer Stadium.
