WOMEN'S SOCCER RANKED NO. 15

Ottumwa, IA – An undefeated start to the 2021 campaign bumped the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team up in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Soccer rankings to No. 15. The Warriors, ranked No. 17 in the initial preseason rankings, are currently 4-0-0 on the year.

Fresh off the team's first-ever trip to the NJCAA national tournament, the Warriors have opened this year on a tear. Indian Hills has outscored each of its first four opponents 38-2 and are the top scoring team in the country. The next closest team in the nation has scored 22 goals on the year.

Indian Hills has relied on the efforts of both returning sophomores and newcomers to this year's program. Sophomore Bailey Wiemann (Burlington, IA/Burlington) and Risa Ogasawara (Yokohama, Japan/Hinomoto) have served as a powerful combination as the two rank first and second in the nation in goals, assists, points, and shots, respectively. The impenetrable Warrior defense has allowed just two goals on the year with a pair of shutouts from freshman keeper Trisha Westphal (Lockridge, IA/Fairfield).

Next up for head coach Anthony Longo's program is a trip to Burlington, IA on Wednesday to take on Southeastern Community College. The Warriors topped the Blackhawks 4-0 in the preseason and 5-0 in the Spring 2021 regular season.
