Conference Honors Entire Soccer Squad

Ottumwa -- The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference this week took the unusual approach of naming the full Indian Hills women's soccer team as one of its Athletes of the Week.

The weekly honor is given almost exclusively to individuals from conference schools that had noteworthy performances in the prior week. This time around, the conference office cited the Warriors for their 15-0 blowout of Lincoln College on Oct. 1 and also mentioned that the win was IHCC's 6th this season, setting a school record for victories in a single season.

The blanking of Lincoln was also the first shutout of the season for the Warriors, accomplished by the team's three goalkeepers. Eight different players had a goal in the game and two, Olivia Pargeon and Sophie Woods, had hat tricks.

The progress the Warriors have made during the course of the season can be found in their performance in the game that followed the dominating result against Lincoln when Indian Hills lost 5-0 to nationally-ranked Iowa Western last Saturday. However, the Warriors were much more competitive in that contest than they were in an earlier defeat against the Reivers.

Indian Hills is back in action on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 when they take on Hesston (Kans.) at the IHCC field.
