Ottumwa, IA – Indian Hills Interim Head Softball Coach Jim Overturf has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Softball Region 11 Coach of the Year, announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) on Wednesday.
In addition to Overturf's honor, the Warriors earned 10 NJCAA DI Softball All-Region 11 honors while sophomore Ava Smith (Waukee, IA/Waukee Northwest) was named the NJCAA DI Softball Region 11 Offensive Player of the Year

In his first season back with the Warriors, Overturf led the program to the ICCAC regular season title after going 13-2 in league play on the year. The Warriors finished the 2025 campaign with a 32-16 overall mark after advancing to the NJCAA Region 11 DI Softball Championship series, finishing as runners-up.
Under Overturf, the Warriors posted the program's 10th consecutive 30-win season.
As a program, the Warriors garnered 12 ICCAC Players of the Week during the 2025 campaign.
Overturf, who previously coached the Warriors from 2008-2014, has now tallied 235 career wins at Indian Hills while boasting a .576 career winning percentage in Ottumwa.
