Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Softball program earned 10 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 11 honors, announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) on Wednesday. The Warriors placed four individuals on the first-team and six on the second-team.
Sophomores Ashlynn Sheets (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa), Ava Smith (Waukee, IA/Waukee Northwest), and Peyton Raley (Arvada, CO/Arvada West) were joined by freshman Mary-Paige Withers (Le Claire, IA/Pleasant Valley) on the first-team. Three sophomores - Alivia Ruble (Lacona, IA/Southeast Warren), Courtney Locke (Bow, WA/Burlington-Edison), and Yarah Zuiver (Zaanstad, Netherlands/Roc Van Amsterdam) were joined by freshman Emma Scully (West Des Moines, IA/Valley), Shanna Buford (Donnellson, IA/Central Lee), and Cassandra Benberg (Green Bay, WI/Pulaski) on the second-team.
In addition to the All-Region honors, the Warriors earned a pair of individual awards as Smith was named the ICCAC DI Softball Offensive Player of the Year and interim head coach Jim Overturf was tapped as the ICCAC DI Softball Coach of the Year.

Sheets wrapped up a standout two-year career in the circle for the Warriors after going 17-6 with a 3.03 earned run average during her sophomore campaign. Sheets posted a 7-1 overall record in conference action on the year and finished the season with 88 strikeouts to surpass the 200 career-strikeout plateau. Sheets lands her second postseason honor after earning second-team All-Region recognition last season.
Smith starred at the plate for the Warriors, leading the ICCAC with a league-best .489 batting average. The sophomore also led the conference with a .548 on-base percentage and ranked second overall with an .883 slugging percentage. Smith ranked second in the league with 12 home runs on the year while her 48 RBI ranked fourth-most. Smith becomes a two-time All-Region selection after earning second-team honors as a freshman.
Raley becomes a two-time first-team NJCAA All-Region 11 First-Team selection after leading the Warriors at the top of the order. Raley boasted a .346 batting average while tallying a team-high 15 stolen bases. Raley surpassed 100-career hits at Indian Hills after tallying 54 knocks on the season, including 10 for extra bases. The Warriors' primary centerfielder, Raley tallied a career-high four outfield assists while aiding in three double plays.
Withers made an immediate impact in her rookie season for the Warriors, boasting a .373 batting average on the year. Withers ranked second on the team with 40 RBI after tallying 22 extra base hits, including six home runs. Withers tallied 12 multi-hit games on the year and tied a school record with five hits in a game at Marshalltown on April 19.
Ruble earned All-Region honors for the first time in her Indian Hills career after a strong sophomore campaign in the circle. Ruble racked up 13 wins for the Warriors in 87.0 innings of work. The right-hander posted 60 strikeouts on the year in 23 total appearances.
Locke produced career-high numbers in for the Warriors in 2025 to land on the second-team All-Region squad. The primary second baseman posted a .374 batting average on the year, including a .609 slugging percentage. Locke tallied five home runs and 31 RBI while scoring 35 runs on the year.
Zuiver garnered All-Region honors for the first-time in her Indian Hills career after producing career-high numbers for the Warrior offense. Zuiver finished the 2025 campaign with a .321 batting average while connecting on nine extra base hits, including three home runs. Zuiver added personal-best numbers with 27 RBI and 29 runs scored for the Warriors.
Scully earned All-Region second-team honors after a solid freshman campaign behind the plate for the Warriors. Scully batted .324 on the year with a pair of home runs and 17 RBI. The freshman backstop made just one error on the season for a .990 fielding percentage while throwing out 30.0 percent of runners.
Buford started 47 of the team's 48 games at shortshop to anchor the Indian Hills defense. At the plate, Buford tallied 41 hits on the year, including 15 doubles and four home runs. The freshman boasted 11 multi-hit games afor the Warrior offense.
Benberg made her presence felt at the plate immediately during her freshman campaign, producing a .390 clip while adding a .468 on-base percentage and a .610 slugging percentage. The outfielder tallied 13 extra base hits, including five home runs while driving in 33 runs. Benberg posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the outfield.
The Warriors finished the 2025 campaign with a 32-16 record after advancing to the NJCAA Region 11 Championship series while winning the ICCAC regular season title.
