Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Softball team is set to host a pair of Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) doubleheaders at R.L. Hellyer Field this weekend.

SOPHOMORE DAY FESTIVITIES
Following Saturday's contests with Southwestern, the Warriors will recognize their sophomore class with an on-field ceremony. Indian Hills will honor eight individuals who are in their final season with the Warriors: Jordyn Beck, Peyton Raley, Ava Smith, Yarah Zuiver, Alivia Ruble, Ashlynn Sheets, Courtney Locke, and Shanna Buford.
LEADING OFF
Indian Hills heads into an action-packed weekend of ICCAC matchups with four games at R.L. Hellyer Field.
- Indian Hills enters the weekend riding a 13-game winning streak. The streak is the fifth-longest for an Indian Hills squad over the last 20 seasons.
- The Warriors' win streak is currently the fourth-longest in the nation (Northwest Florida- 34, Midland - 27, and Chattanooga State - 19).
- During the team's win streak, the Warriors are outscoring opponents 106-29.
- The Warriors are 22-12 overall and sit in first-place in the ICCAC as the lone undefeated team at 8-0.
- The Warriors are 8-0 in league play for just the fifth time in program history dating back to the 2001 season
- Sophomores Courtney Locke and Ashlynn Sheets swept the weekly ICCAC DI Softball Athlete of the Week awards

- The Warriors currently rank 17th in the nation with 80 doubles on the year.
- Ava Smith currently ranks second in the ICCAC in batting average (.479), hits (46), on-base percentage (.545), doubles (14), and third in slugging percentage (.813) and home runs (6).
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
The Spartans enter Saturday's twinbill with a 16-15 record overall, including a 4-4 mark in league play.
- Southwestern split a home doubleheader with North Central Missouri College on Thursday afternoon.
- The Spartans are 6-4 in their last 10 matchups and are 9-8 on the year in true road games.
- Brooklyn Hadl leads the offense with a .465 batting average while Bailey Hosbach leads the pitching staff with eight victories.
SERIES HISTORY
Indian Hills and Southwestern will be meeting for the second time this season after the Warriors swept the Spartans on March 24 in Creston, IA, winning 6-1 and 9-0.
- Dating back to the 2016 season, the Warriors are 32-1 against the Spartans, having won 24 consecutive matchups.
- The Warriors are 19-0 at R.L. Hellyer Field since 2016
- Over the last 10 meetings, Indian Hills is outscoring Southwestern 114-22.
SCOUTING THE REIVERS
Iowa Western, who will take on Southeastern Community College in Burlington, IA on Saturday for an ICCAC doubleheader, currently owns a 22-12 overall record, including a 5-3 mark in league play.
- The Reivers are coming off a cross-division doubleheader split at North Iowa Area Community College on Thursday, winning game one 12-3 before falling 6-5 in the nightcap.
- Iowa Western is 6-4 in their last 10 matchups and are 11-9 in true road/neutral site matchups on the year.
- The Reivers are batting .420 in 22 victories, but just .244 in their 12 losses.
- Sophomore Allie Cromer leads the offense with a .478 batting average, third-best in the ICCAC while Olivia Dougherty leads the team with eight wins.
SERIES HISTORY
Indian Hills and Iowa Western have combined for the last 13 regular season ICCAC championships and the last nine NJCAA Region 11 championships.
- Indian Hills took the most recent series back on March 22 in Council Bluffs with a pair of league wins - 4-3 and 5-4.
