Indian Hills Blanks Ellsworth Twice

W, 7-0

Iowa Falls, Iowa -- On the strength of shutout pitching performances by Alexis Groet and Nina Hendriks and three more home runs, Indian Hills took both games of a Tuesday doubleheader with Ellsworth CC by identical 7-0 scores.  The sweep lifts the season record for IHCC to 19-16 and increased their homer total to 52.

Groet fashioned her 4th shutout of the season in the opener allowing only three hits with 14 strikeouts.  It was the freshman's 6th game of at least 10 Ks and she has fanned nine batters in six other starts.  Brooke Snider slugged her 14th home run of the spring and knocked in three of IHCC's runs.  Jaylie Reints had three hits as the Warriors rolled.

Macey Harrington and Alexis Westercamp both homered in game two.  Harrington tied Snider for the team lead with 14 and Westercamp blasted her 6th of the year.  Hendriks turned in her best performance in the circle, going the distance while permitting just three hits with six strikeouts.

IHCC will host State Fair CC in a non-conference twinbill on Saturday afternoon at Hellyer Field.
