KOPSIEKER NAMED ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Kolton Kopsieker (Ollie, IA/Pekin) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Sports Shooting Male Athlete of the Week. Kopsieker becomes the first Warrior in program history to earn the honor.

Kopsieker led the Warriors in two separate meets over the weekend. The freshman became the first shooter to record a 100 in the five year existence of the Warrior program. Kopsieker's perfect round came in a 480-437 victory at Kirkwood on Sunday.

Kopsieker also led the Warriors in the team's dual against Iowa Western on Friday with 98 targets hit. Kopsieker posted two perfect rounds of 25 to finish third overall at the meet. The Warriors put together one of its most impressive team scores of the year, but fell 492-474.

In five meets this year, Kopsieker is averaging a team-best 95.2 targets.

The Warriors head to Marengo, OH for the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Collegiate Nationals. The four-day event begins Thursday at The Cardinal Center.
