EWING'S NOTES
"As a team, we have been talking about this trip for what seems like forever," stated head coach Brent Ewing. "The chance to compete at a national championship meet and to do it on one of the fastest tracks in the United States is a blessing. I'm anticipating the men will be in for a dog fight. There's three to four teams that are capable of winning the national title. Day one will be very pivotal for us. The goal is to qualify as many individuals as possible for finals on day two. Day one also provides the men the chance to set the tone with finals in the shot put, distance medley relay, high jump and long jump. We want to create as much positive momentum as possible on day one.
Day one will be very important as well for our ladies. We have a few ladies capable of putting themselves into Saturday's final. Dymonde Nave, the number two ranked 60-meter hurdler will lead the way for us. Im looking forward to our 4x4 relay placing high on day two as well. This track is known for producing very fast sprint and hurdle times. A big goal of mine is for my sprint/hurdle ladies to walk away from this meet with several personal bests."
WHAT'S NEXT
The national meet serves as the conclusion of the indoor season for the Warriors. Indian Hills will turn its attention to the outdoor season which gets underway March 28-29 at the Emporia State Relays in Emporia, KS.
