Ottumwa, IA – For the third time this season, sophomore Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) of the Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.
Au-Duke powered the Warriors to a pair of victories last week to push the team's overall record to 16-2 on the year. Indian Hills is currently ranked No. 12 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball Poll.
In the two wins last week, Au-Duke averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 87.5 percent from the free throw line. The sophomore guard added 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while boasting a 3.0 assist/turnover ratio.
Following a nine point, four rebound, and five assist effort in a 103-79 victory vs. Dakota County Technical College (MN) at the Hellyer Center on Tuesday, Au-Duke followed up with a career-night, dropping a personal-best 24 points to lead the Warriors to a 68-61 victory over longtime foe Southeastern Community College in ICCAC action. Au-Duke added seven rebounds and four assists in the win over the Blackhawks.
Au-Duke currently leads the Warriors with 13.3 points per game and leads the ICCAC in assists (70) and free throw percentage (84.4 percent).
Indian Hills returns to action at the Hellyer Center Tuesday night as the Warriors host Triton College (IL) at 7:00 PM.
