Ottumwa, IA – For the second consecutive week, sophomore Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) of the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team has been tapped as the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.
Au-Duke led the Warriors to a victory in its lone matchup last week, an 88-73 road win at McCook Community College (NE) on Friday night. With the win, the Warriors jumped two spots in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball Poll, up to No. 14.
Au-Duke put together a well-rounded effort on the court, leading the Warriors with a game-high 21 points while shooting 60.0 percent (9-15) from the floor. Au-Duke added a game-high seven assists while pulling down five rebounds. The sophomore guard added a steal and a blocked shot to the stat sheet.
Au-Duke, who leads the Warriors with 14.3 points per game on the year, has now scored in double-figures in four consecutive contests and seven times in eight games this season. The sophomore leads the ICCAC in scoring while his 3.3 assists/game top the conference leaderboard.
Indian Hills is back in action Tuesday night at the Hellyer Center for a 7:00 PM matchup vs. Lincoln Trail College (IL), the first of six consecutive home matchups.
