Ottumwa, IA – Four players went for double-figures to lead No. 13 Indian Hills Men's Basketball to a 94-80 victory over Cloud County Community College (KS) on the final day of the Meridian Credit Union Classic at the Hellyer Center Saturday. The Warriors wrap up the opening weekend of play with a 2-0 record.
Sophomore At Manyuon (Austin, MN/We Are United Prep) led all Warriors with a career-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds. Sophomore KJ LaMonte (Davenport, IA/New Mexico Highlands) came off the bench to score 19 points on 7-9 shooting. Sophomores Chiang Ring (Minneapolis, MN/Murray State) and Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) added 16 and 13 points, respectively.
As a team, the Warriors shot an impressive 55.2 percent from the floor, including 42.1 percent from three-point range to run past the Thunderbirds. Indian Hills held its counterpart to just 36.6 percent from the floor and 18.2 percent from beyond the arc.

The Warriors scorched the Thunderbirds through the first 20 minutes of play to build a sizeable advantage. Indian Hills led 26-9 at the 9:55 mark of the first half as LaMonte sparked the Warriors off the bench. Indian Hills boated a 69.2 percent clip from the floor in the opening half while knocking 5-8 from three-point range as LaMonte tallied 14 of his season-high 19 points in the first stanza.
Indian Hills built its largest lead of the night, a 29-point advantage with 8:57 to go in the second frame to finish off the Thunderbirds.
Redshirt-freshman Sawyer Mayhugh (Weston, MA/Queens) added eight points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Warriors. LaMonte added a team-high six assists and four steals to fill the box score.
Indian Hills hits the road for its first contest away from the Hellyer Center Tuesday night with a trip to Dodge City Community College in Dodge, City, KS. Action from The Dome gets underway at 7:00 PM.
