Ottumwa, IA – A school record 14 Indian Hills Athletic programs were named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Academic Teams of the Year, announced by the national office on Friday. The 14 programs double the previous school record of seven teams, set in 2024 and 2023.
NJCAA programs are recognized as an Academic Team of the Year for maintaining a team GPA of 3.0 or better for the academic year. In addition to the team honors, a school record 116 individuals were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Team, also announced Friday.

Along with the academic success, 11 of the 14 programs that earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors represented Indian Hills at the respective national championships, including the men's and women's wrestling squads that captured NJCAA National Championships.

- Men's Cross Country: 3.10 GPA
- Women's Soccer: 3.10 GPA
The Indian Hills Softball squad achieved the highest team GPA throughout the year, posting a 3.80 GPA to earn NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors for the 26th consecutive season. The Warriors' team GPA was good enough for sixth-best in the nation this year.
The Indian Hills Baseball squad earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors for the 18th consecutive season after posting a 3.72 cumulative GPA on the year, the fifth-best best mark in the nation.
The men's golf team posted the third-highest team GPA at Indian Hills after placing third overall at the 2025 NJCAA DI Men's Golf National Championship.
The men's wrestling team, who captured the program's first-ever national championship, earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors for the second consecutive season after posting a 3.18 GPA. The women's wrestling team followed suit, winning the NJCAA Women's Wrestling National Invitational while posting a 3.15 cumulative GPA.
The men's soccer team, who posted its best finish in school history at the national tournament by reaching the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer National Championship semifinal round, was named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for the third consecutive season with a 3.21 GPA.
The women's golf squad, in its first complete year of competition, was named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year with a 3.19 GPA.
The women's track & field program was honored as an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons while the men's outdoor track & field program secured NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors. Both the men's and women's cross country squads earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors to propel the Warrior running programs to academic success.
The volleyball squad, on the heels of its third consecutive top-10 finish at the national tournament, was named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for the third consecutive season.
The women's soccer squad was named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for the seventh consecutive season after posting a 3.10 GPA.
