11 WARRIORS NAMED NWCA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICANS

Centerville, IA – 11 members of the national championship Indian Hills Women's Wrestling squad have been named to the prestigious National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American team, announced Thursday afternoon by the national organization.

The 11 individuals honored by the NWCA are the most of any program in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). A total of 97 student-athletes representing 22 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.

The Warriors' 11 honors this season are tied for the second-most in school history behind the 2024 program's 14 honors and 11 individuals in 2023. Indian Hills captured its sixth consecutive national title on March 7, and the fourth-straight NJCAA National Invitational title.

Nine of the 11 individuals recognized earned NJCAA All-American honors at this year's national tournament, including NJCAA National Champions Gabriela Avila Diaz (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Academia Bautista De Puerto Nuevo) and Azreal Smith (Tulsa, OK/Union).

Indian Hills has now earned 40 all-time NWCA Scholar All-Americans in six seasons as a program.
