DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPS RELEASE SCHEDULE

2023-24 INDIAN HILLS WOMEN'S WRESTLING SCHEDULE

Centerville, IA – The three-time defending national champion Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

The Warriors, who claimed the first-ever National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Wrestling National Championship last season, will look to continue their unprecedented run heading into the new year. Along with the team national title last year, the Warriors claimed four individual titles and 17 All-American honors. In addition, Indian Hills posted an unbeaten Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

"Really excited about how our schedule finished up," stated head coach Cole Spree. "Obviously anytime you can compete at home it is great. This year we are able to do that five times which is awesome for the student-athletes and our community. Along with a great dual schedule we will be headed to some very competitive open tournaments as well. This will allow us to bring larger numbers to participate and see how we stack up against some NCAA and NAIA programs."

The 2023-24 schedule features five home duals at the Multi-Purpose Building, including the team's season opener in nonconference action against Carl Albert State College (OK) on November 2. The Warriors' home ICCAC opener is set for November 15 against Iowa Western Community College.

Along with the Iowa Western dual, this year's ICCAC slate features trips to Iowa Lakes Community College on November 8 and a trip to Iowa Central Community College on November 29. The Warriors will travel to Ellsworth Community College on January 17 before hosting North Iowa Area Community College on January 24 and Iowa Lakes on January 31.

Indian Hills will also host a nonconference dual against newly established Trinidad State College (CO) on December 10.

For the second consecutive year, the Warriors will travel to the Avila Duals in Kansas City, Mo to take on prominent four-year institutions. Last season, the Warriors scored wins over Missouri Baptist University and Ottawa University at the Avila Duals.

The Warriors' schedule also features a number of highly competitive tournaments scattered throughout the year, including the Luther Hill Invitational at Simpson College on November 4, the Doane Open in Crete, NE on December 2, the York Open in York, NE on January 13, and the Spire Open in Leavenworth, KS on January 26. The Warriors close out the regular season on February 3 with the Grand View Open in Des Moines, IA.

This year's NJCAA National Championship is set for March 3-4 in Council Bluffs, IA at the Mid-America Center.
