Centerville, IA – The first-ever Junior College National Championship women's wrestling team will be formally recognized Saturday, Dec. 11 as the Indian Hills Women's Wrestling program receives their championship rings. The event will be a part of the team's home dual meet at the Multi-Purpose Building.
The ring ceremony is set to begin at 1:45 PM from the team's home facility on the Indian Hills – Centerville campus. 12 student-athletes and three coaches will be presented their championship rings prior to the team's first-ever home dual at the Multi-Purpose Facility, set to begin at 2:00 PM.
The Warriors will host three different teams to compete against each other on Dec. 11. Indian Hills welcomes Iowa Western Community College, Hastings College (NE), and Chadron State College (NE). Chadron State is currently coached by former Indian Hills assistant Alijah Jeffrey who will be presented with his championship ring.
Following the duals, an open reception will follow on the Centerville campus in rooms 15 and 16.
The Warriors became the first women's junior college program to win a national championship with the team's triumph May 15 in Roseburg, OR. The team took home three individual national championships, 12 All-American accolades, and the team dual national championship.
