The Indian Hills Volleyball squad enters postseason action at the national tournament for the fourth consecutive season. The Warriors drew the No. 16 overall seed and will square off against top-seeded Miami Dade College (FL) at 4:00 PM CT on the campus of Austin Peay University
HOW WE GOT HERE
Indian Hills captured its fourth consecutive Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and NJCAA Midwest A District Championship to secure an automatic bid to the 2025 national tournament.
- The Warriors enter postseason play with a 25-8 overall record after sweeping through the NJCAA Midwest A District Championship with a pair of 3-0 victories.
- Indian Hills boasts a 6-2 true road record and are 18-8 overall away from its home court.
- The Warriors posted an undefeated record (3-0 in ICCAC play to claim the regular season title.
WARRIORS AT NATIONALS
Indian Hills is set to make its seventh all-time trip to the national tournament, and fourth consecutive bid.
- The Warriors have secured three consecutive top-10 finishes at the national tournament (8th, 9th, 4th).
- 2025 marks the third-time the Warriors have earned a double-digit seed and have earned at least one upset win in each of the previous two occurrences.
- Indian Hills is 12-10 all-time at the national tournament.
- The Warriors are 0-1 all-time at the national tournament vs. Miami Dade (3-0 loss in 2022).
WARRIORS TO WATCH
Indian Hills has relied on its sophomore leadership and talented freshman class throughout the 2025 campaign.
- The Warriors recently placed four individuals on the NJCAA All-Region 11 First-Team (Luana Ferreira, Ana Luiza Caminha Matos, Piper Nelson, and Asialin Powell).

- Sophomore Asialin Powell, who ranks in the top-five in the nation in digs and digs/set, was named the 2025 ICCAC Player of the Year

- Freshman Farah Sherif, the reigning ICCAC Player of the Week, enters postseason play with a team-high 325 kills on the year.
- Sophomore Ana Luiza Caminha Matos ranks second in the nation with 10.99 assists/set this season.
- Head coach Lyndsey Michel, making her fifth trip to the national tournament, was recently named the ICCAC DI Volleyball Coach of the Year

SCOUTING THE SHARKS
Miami Dade enters the national tournament as the top overall seed and ranked No. 1 in the nation in the final NJCAA DI Volleyball Poll.
- The Sharks are set to make their 24th all-time trip to the national tournament. Miami Dade has won six national championships, most recently in 2016 and 2017.
- Miami Dade heads to Clarksville with a 25-2 overall record, having captured the FCSAA and NJCAA Atlantic A District Championships.
- The Sharks are under the direction of 18th year head coach Origenes "Kiko" Benoit.
- Sophomore Luyeisy Marquez-Moreno leads the offense with 326 total kills on the year.
- Maria Fernanda de Lima Varela leads the defense with 97 total blocks this season.
- The Sharks rank third in the nation in points/set at 18.3 and lead the NJCAA with 12.66 assists/set.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
The winner of Wednesday's matchup will advance to the quarterfinals of the championship bracket at 7:00 PM Thursday night against the winner of (8) Odessa College (TX) and (9) Blinn College (TX). The loser of Wednesday's matchup will fall to the consolation bracket at 1:00 PM Thursday against the loser of Odessa and Blinn.
