FERREIRA, SHERIF SWEEP ICCAC WEEKLY HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – With a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball Midwest District Championship in hand, the No. 17 nationally ranked Indian Hills Volleyball squad swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors, announced Tuesday afternoon.

Following the Warriors' sweep of the postseason tournament to secure a bid to the upcoming national championship, sophomore Luana Silva Ferreira (Guimaraes, Portgual/Martins Sarmento) and freshman Farah Sherif (Alexandria, Egypt/EGC) swept the weekly accolades from the conference office. Ferreira was tapped as the ICCAC Defensive Player of the Week while Sherif lands her third ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.

INDIAN HILLS VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GEAR ON SALE

Indian Hills swept both John A. Logan College (IL) and Missouri State University – West Plains to clinch the program's fourth consecutive NJCAA DI Volleyball Midwest District Championship.

Ferreira collects her second-career ICCAC Athlete of the Week honor, and first this season, after leading the Warrior defense to two wins at the District tournament.  Ferreira posted a total of nine blocks between the two matches, including five solo stops. In the championship tilt with Missouri State – West Plains, Ferreira posted three solo blocks to go along with three block assists to power the Warriors to the title.

Ferreira eclipsed 150 career blocks at Indian Hills and is just three blocks shy of 100 for the 2025 season.

Sherif collects her second consecutive ICCAC Athlete of the Week honor after leading the offense at the District tournament in Mattoon, IL. Sherif tallied 17 digs in the win over John A. Logan before finishing off the tournament with 16 kills vs. Missouri State- West Plains, Sherif's fifth consecutive match with double-digit kills.

On the week, Sherif posted a .328 hitting percentage in 64 total attempts. Sherif also surpassed 300 kills on the year for the Warriors.

With the title in hand, the Warriors secure a spot in the upcoming NJCAA DI Volleyball National Championship, extending its program-record to four consecutive trips to the national tournament. Indian Hills is set to compete in the national tournament for the seventh time in school history, and fifth time under head coach Lyndsey Michel. The national tournament gets underway Wednesday, November 19 in Clarksville, TN.
