Charlotte, NC – Former Indian Hills Volleyball standout Jill Hoeck has been inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, announced by the national office on Friday.
Hoeck, an Indian Hills Athletics Hall of Fame inductee in 2013, becomes the first Indian Hills Volleyball alum to be inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame. An NJCAA All-American with the Warriors, Hoeck is joined by current NJCAA Volleyball Head Coaches Mary Young of Central Community College (NE) and Kiko Benoit of Miami Dade College (FL) in this year's Hall of Fame class.
One of the most decorated student-athletes in program history for the Warriors, Hoeck led Indian Hills Volleyball to back-to-back national tournament appearances in 2004 and 2005. The Warriors captured a third-place finish in 2004, to date the best finish in program history, followed by a fifth-place showing in 2005. Hoeck was awarded the NJCAA DI Volleyball National Tournament Most Outstanding Setter award in both trips to the postseason tournament, including an impressive 199 assists in four matches as the 2005 event.
As a sophomore in 2005, Hoeck was named a NJCAA and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First-Team All-American. Hoeck was a two-time selection to the NJCAA All-Region 11 First-Team as the league's top setter.
Hoeck remains the school's all-time assists leader, the only individual in program history to surpass the 3,000 assist mark with a two-year total of 3,254. Hoeck's 2005 assist total of 1,649 ranks third-best in a single season in school history while her 1,605 helpers in 2004 rank fifth-best.
Following a standout career at Indian Hills, Hoeck completed her academic and athletic career at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In two seasons with the Seahawks, Hoeck started 63 contests where she tallied 2,073 career assists to go along with 46 career service aces.
Hoeck will officially be inducted into the NJCAA Volleyball Hall of Fame during the 2024 NJCAA DI Volleyball National Tournament in Clarksville, TN on November 19.
