Ottumwa, IA – Sophomores Ana Carolina Westerich (Blumenau, Brazil/Colégio Energia) and Sabrina Nogueira Da Silva (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Campos Salles) swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Volleyball Athlete of the Week honors, announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

The duo led the Warriors in a highly competitive weekend at the Sheila Worley Invitational in Sterling, CO over the weekend. Both individuals eclipsed major milestones on their way to sweeping the weekly offensive and defensive ICCAC honors.

Westerich, the team's primary setter over the past two seasons, surpassed 2,000 career assists after totaling 221 helpers in five matches last week. The sophomore currently leads the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) with 691 assists while her 10.31 assists/set rank second overall.

On the week, Westerich eclipsed 50 assists in a single match twice, including 52 in a 3-2 win over No. 15 New Mexico Junior College on Friday. Westerich has posted 50 or more assists in five matches on the year.

Da Silva lands her third ICCAC DI Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week honor after leading the Warriors from the backline. Da Silva eclipsed 900-career digs, and is just 16 digs shy of 1,000 for her career after posting 106 digs in five matches last week. Da Silva currently ranks third in the nation with 341 digs on the year.

Da Silva closed out the week with three consecutive 20+ dig matches, including 28 against No. 6 Northeastern Junior College (CO) and 27 vs. No. 4 Barton Community College (KS).

As a team, the Warriors have now won eight total ICCAC DI Volleyball Athlete of the Week honors this year.
