Boone, Iowa -- One loss that has stuck with this year's Indian Hills volleyball team all season long was one that occurred in the fifth match of the season. On that night at the Net Center, the Warriors jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead against DMACC, then saw the Bears claw their way back to a 3-2 win, one of only three losses all year for Indian Hills.
The sixth-ranked Warriors didn't miss out on the opportunity to exact some revenge for the earlier defeat on Thursday night when they knocked off DMACC in a straight-set victory on the Bears' home court. Indian Hills won 25-17, 25-22 and 25-21.
The one-two punch of Bailey Darnall and Tamara Merseli led the Warriors at the net, pounding 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Sarah Ryder led in digs with 10, two more than Merseli and Lauren Streets. And setter Yanjiao Zhao had 39 assists. Darnall was also huge with a half-dozen serving aces in the Warriors' 28th win of the season against three defeats.
Indian Hills closes out the regular season at home against Southeastern CC next Monday night.
