Big Road Win for Warriors

Cedar Rapids, Iowa -- Playing their first of two road matches against ranked teams this week, Indian Hills took care of 19th-ranked Kirkwood CC in three sets on Tuesday night. The Warriors, rated 6th in the latest Division I poll, won 25-11, 25-17 and 25-14 to up their season record to 27-3.

Tamara Merseli led three IHCC players with double-digit kills totals with 15. Lauren Streets had 11 and Bailey Darnall 10 and Indian Hills dominated in that category, 49-21. Setter Yanjiao Zhao had 45 assists for the Warriors while Jessica Eekhoff contributed a team-high five blocks. Streets and Darnall led the way with 10 digs each. IHCC was consistent with either 16 or 17 kills in each of the three sets.

The Warriors will take a trip to Boone on Thursday to battle 7th-rated DMACC. Indian Hills will try to avenge an early-season loss to the Bears, who came from two sets down to knock off the Warriors, handing them one of their three losses this season.
