Warrior Netters Make Quick Work of MCC

Ottumwa -- The season-opening win streak for the IHCC volleyball team is now at 11 after the Warriors took care of Marshalltown CC in three sets on Tuesday night at the Net Center. After having an easy time in a 25-12 first set, Indian Hills pulled away late in each of the next two sets to finish off the sweep, winning 25-20 and 25-22.

The Warriors set the tone for the evening when they won the first six points of the opening set. The next two sets were much tougher, however.

A five-point run and a later 5-1 spurt allowed IHCC to claim the second set. The third set was tied at 17-all before the Warriors pulled it out.

Indian Hills will put its perfect record on the line again this weekend when the Warriors travel to play in the East Union tourney in Missouri.

Marshalltown has joined IHCC and Iowa Western in the Division I ranks for volleyball this year. Indian Hills gets its first look at Iowa Western, ranked No. 2 in the preseason, next Wednesday in Council Bluffs.
