Warriors Get Split at Triangular

Boone, Iowa -- The Indian Hills volleyball team ended its regular season schedule by beating Marshalltown CC and losing to DMACC in a triangular on Friday. IHCC picked up a 25-13, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19 victory against MCC before dropping three straight sets to DMACC by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-8.

The results leave the Warriors with a season record of 17-21 heading into the District D tournament in Council Bluffs next weekend.

In the match with Marshalltown, Indian Hills had a dozen service aces and 50 kills. Shelby Lauterbach had a team-high 17 kills and three aces while also pacing the Warriors with 13 digs. Peyton Crosser had 12 kills and three blocks and Katie Soddy had 11 digs and a team-best 42 assists.

The Warriors, though, had only half as many kills -- 25 -- and only five blocks and one ace serve in the match with DMACC.

Crosser had six kills and Lauterbach five. Kassidy Guihan led the team with 10 digs.

Indian Hills will open the district tourney against Kaskaskia CC at 2:30 next Friday afternoon in the double-elimination tournament hosted by Iowa Western. The district champion will advance to the NJCAA Division I national tournament in Casper, Wyoming.
