A win against Iowa Central allowed Indian Hills to salvage the final match in a weekend tournament at Kirkwood CC that featured plenty of ranked teams.

The Warriors dropped matches to DII No. 10 Kishwaukee (Ill.), DII No. 1 Cowley County (Kans.) and DII No. 6 Johnson County. They led the Kishwaukee match 2-1, winning sets two and three, 25-20 and 25-22, before losing a pair of close sets, 25-23 and 15-11.

Shelby Lauterbach led IHCC in that match, posting seven ace serves, 15 kills and 10 digs. Peyton Crosser's 19 kills led the Warriors and Mirela Vasconcelos had eight blocks.

Against top-ranked Cowley County, Camila Arajuo had a team-high four kills and Kassidy Guihan had 26 digs.

Lauterbach again came up big against Johnson County with nine kills.

Indian Hills battled back after losing two of the first three sets against Iowa Central to win the final two sets, 25-23 and 15-9. Crosser amassed 21 kills and Arajuo 15 while Ramiah St. Fleur led with six blocks.

Kirkwood will provide the opposition in IHCC's first home match of the season on Thursday night.
