After playing their first 13 matches of the season on the road, Indian Hills was ready to make its home debut on Thursday night. Unfortunately, Kirkwood dashed the Warriors' hopes of getting a win in their home opener, knocking off IHCC in four sets.

Indian Hills followed up a 25-18 loss in the first set by winning a close second set, 26-24. A double-block by Peyton Crosser and Mirela Vasconcelos on a kill attempt by Kirkwood was the winning point after the Warriors had squandered two earlier game points.

The third set was close until Kirkwood ran off seven points in a row to go ahead 19-9 on the way to a 25-12 win. The visitors then closed out the match by winning 25-15 in the fourth set.

Camila Araujo had a good night at the net, leading IHCC with 14 kills. Vasconcelos led with three blocks.

This weekend the Warriors will take part in a tournament hosted by Southeastern CC with two matches on both Friday and Saturday.
