In an earlier matchup on their home court, Southwestern spotted Indian Hills a two-sets-to-none lead and then won the next three sets to knock off the Warriors. On Tuesday night at the Net Center, Southwestern again won three consecutive sets from IHCC and swept the Warriors.
Indian Hills got off to a 5-2 lead in the opening set, but Southwestern turned things around and, except for a brief one-point advantage later in the set, didn't trail again in winning 25-21. After that, the Spartans raced away to big leads in the final two sets before winning 25-15 and 25-20.
The Warriors struggles at the net are reflected in the fact that their kills' leaders for the night had only six, with Camila Araujo, Peyton Crosser and Mirela Vasconcelos recording that many. Katie Soddy and Kaylee Scholten combined for 27 assists, Crosser had three blocks and Kassidy Guihan had 14 digs.
IHCC travels to Fort Dodge to battle Iowa Central on Friday night.
