Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) of the Indian Hills Women's Track & Field team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Nave starred at the John McDonnell Invitational at the University of Arkansas. The sophomore shattered her own 100-meter hurdle school record while posting a personal-best mark in the 400-meter hurdles.
Competing against some of the top four-year programs in the nation, Nave cruised to a fifth-place finish in the 100mH with a time of 13.65, 0.11 seconds off of her own previous school record. Nave was the second collegiate athlete to cross the finish line, placing only behind Arkansas' Simone Ballard. Nave's mark is also good enough for the top mark in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) this year.
Nave followed up with a dominant performance in the 400-meter hurdle, placing 10th overall as the top junior college finisher in the event. Nave posted a time of 1:03.32, a new personal best mark and the No. 2 mark all-time in Indian Hills history.
The Warriors head into postseason action in Council Bluffs, IA this weekend with the NJCAA Region 11 Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
