Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) of the Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad has been selected as this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Indoor Women's Track Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
Competing at the Washburn Alumni Invitational in Topeka, KS on Saturday, Nave opened her sophomore campaign in impressive fashion. In the season opener, Nave broke her own school and meet record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.65 to take top honors at the meet.
Nave, who set the meet record a year ago at Washburn, shaved 0.28 seconds off last year's effort while cutting off 0.11 seconds from her previous school record.
Nave is coming off an All-American performance last year where the hurdler placed second overall in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship in the women's 100-meter hurdles.
The Warriors close out the 2024 calendar year next weekend with the two-day Iowa State Holiday Invite in Ames, IA on Friday and Saturday.
