Topeka, KS – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad opened the 2024-25 campaign with a number of impressive showings on Saturday at the Washburn Alumni Invitational.
Returning All-American Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) starred for the Warriors with a record-breaking performance in the women's 60-meter hurdles. The Indian Hills school record holder in the event, Nave dashed to a first-place time of 8.65 to set a new meet and Indian Hills program record. Nave shattered her previous personal best mark by 0.11 to take the top honors.
Nave, the national runner-up in the women's 100-meter hurdles at last year's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Outdoor National Championship, has now set the meet record at the Washburn Invite in each of the last two seasons. Nave improved on last year's mark by 0.28 seconds.

Freshman Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) produced a record-breaking performance in her collegiate debut on Saturday. Koonce shattered the previous school record time in the mile by 26 seconds as the freshman posted a time of 5:21.85 to place second overall. Koonce finished just two seconds behind the top performer from Oklahoma City University.
Sophomore Zekira Snow (Brandon, FL/Bloomingdale) placed fourth overall in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.68 followed by teammate Destiny Mitchell (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Riverside) in sixth place with a time of 7.79. Nyla Norman (Evansdale, IA/Waterloo East) crossed the finish line in fourth place in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 24.94, followed by fellow sophomore Kenyatta Grate's (British Virgin Islands/Elmore Stout) fifth-place showing t 25.05.
Sophomore Arriana Johnson (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) took home a fourth-place finish in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.55. Sophomore Laurie Louis (Miami, FL/North Miami) crossed the finish line in sixth in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 59.11.
The Warriors close out the 2024 calendar year next weekend with the two-day Iowa State Holiday Invite in Ames, IA on Friday and Saturday.
