Devaughn Sapien is set to begin his third season with the Indian Hills Wrestling program in 2025-26. Sapien spent his first two season as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's program before transitioning to the full-time assistant women's coach in 2024-25.

Sapien has helped lead the women's program to back-to-back NJCAA National Championships while boasting five individual national champions and 32 All-Americans. On the men's side in 2023-24, Sapien helped lead the Warriors to a seventh-place finish at the national championship along with four All-Americans.

Sapien joined the Warriors after spending the 2022-23 season as a graduate assistant for NCAA DII member Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. The Beaver men's program qualified for the NAIA National Tournament, claiming the program's second-ever All-American while the women's program qualified for the national tournament in its first year of existence.

A native of Boise, ID, Sapien's collegiate career began at National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) power Clackamas Community College (OR) where he twice qualified for the national tournament and was named Outstanding Wrestler at the regional tournament as a freshman.

Following his time at Clackamas, Sapien joined Life University (GA) where he qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in 2019. Sapien capped his collegiate career with a NAIA National Championship appearance for the University of Cumberlands (KY), posting a 21-10 record on the year.

Sapien was a two-time high school state champion and a two-time placer at Fargo Nationals.

Sapien received a Bachelors degree in Coaching from Cumberlands where he was twice named to the Mid-South All-Academic Team and was selected as an NAIA Academic All-American.
