NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING BRACKETS REVEALED

Council Bluffs, IA – Brackets for the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling National Championship have been released. 10 members of the Indian Hills Men's Wrestling squad are set to compete for a national title.

The Warriors will be represented in all 10 weight classes after winning the NJCAA North Central District Championship. The 2025 NJCAA Men's Wrestling National Championship is set for March 7-8 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA.

Sophomore Brice Coleman (Indianapolis, IN/Indiana Tech) will head to Council Bluffs as the top overall seed in the 157lb bracket after a breakout campaign for the Warriors. Coleman took home the program's first-ever 157lb District championship to earn the top spot and a bye to the second round. Coleman will square off against Davion King of Labette Community College (KS) Friday morning.

Freshman Andrew Marquez (Rock Island, IL/Rock Island) earned the No. 2 seed in the 197lb bracket. Ranked No. 1 in the nation in the NJCAA and The Open Mat rankings, Marquez earned a first round bye and will match up with Marcel Gordon of Trinidad State College (CO) on Friday.

Sophomore Riley Bettich (Stevensville, MI/Crown Point), the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Wrestler of the Year, earned the No. 3 seed in the 125lb bracket after winning the NJCAA North Central District title. Bettich, who earned a first round bye in the national championship, will match up with Elijah Montalvan of Otero Junior College (CO).

Returning All-American Jaquan East (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) will head to Council Bluffs as the No. 3 overall seed in the 184lb bracket after a dominant sophomore campaign. East, who earned All-American honors at 174lbs in 2024, will match up with Qilee Jackson Northland Community & Technical College (MN)

Freshman Shehabeldin Mohamed (Alexandria, Egypt/Smouha Military), coming off a District championship at 149lbs, has earned the No. 3 overall seed in the bracket and will square off against Karsten Jensen of Southwestern Oregon Community College in the second round.

Freshman Gavyn Whitehead (New Castle, IN/New Castle), the NJCAA North Central District champion at 141lbs earned the No. 4 overall seed while fellow freshman Naasir Edmonds (Virginia Beach, VA/Landstown) earned the No. 7 seed in the 285lb bracket. Freshman Deontae Forest (Godfrey, IL/Alton) earned the No. 8 seed in the 133lb bracket for the Warriors. Cinsere Clark (Des Moines, IA/Valley) at 165lbs and Mohamed Tarek Abdelhady (Alexandria, Egypt/Sports Military School) at 174lbs will enter the national championship unseeded in their respective bracket.
