CLARK LANDS ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS

Centerville, IA – Freshman Cinsere Clark (Des Moines, IA/Valley) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week after posting an undefeated record on the week for No. 2 Indian Hills Wrestling.

Clark, ranked No. 10 in the nation in the latest The Open Mat 165lb individual rankings, went 5-0 on the week for the Warriors, collecting an ICCAC dual win while taking top honors at the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, MO. On the year, Clark has captured 26 victories, including six major decisions, tied for third-most all-time at Indian Hills.

Clark opened up the week with a dominant 15-0 tech fall at Iowa Lakes Community College to move to 7-1 on the year. Clark needed just 4:02 of mat time to remain unbeaten in ICCAC dual action this year.

The freshman followed up with a 4-0 record at the Missouri Valley Open to take the top spot on the podium. Clark used an opening round 13-0 major before securing back-to-back decisions to advance to the title bout. Clark finished off the day with a 15-4 major over Kolten Oberny of the University of Missouri. On the day, Clark outscored his opponents 43-9.

Clark and the Warriors will now turn their attention to postseason action with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) North Central District Championship February 16 in Council Bluffs, IA.
