NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING RANKINGS (TEAM) | NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING RANKINGS (INDIVIDUAL)
Centerville, IA – The official National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling rankings were released Wednesday afternoon and the Indian Hills Men's Wrestling squad made history with its highest ranking in program history, checking in at No. 2 in the poll.
The Warriors earned 50 points from the NJCAA Men's Wrestling Committee to earn a two-way tie for No. 2 with Fort Hays Tech Northwest. North Idaho College took the top spot overall with 68 team points while Labette Community College (KS) and Clackamas Community College (OR) rounded out the top-five.
The No. 2 rank sets a new program standard, topping the previous mark of No. 5 set multiple times during the 2021-22 campaign. The Warriors are one of three teams from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) ranked inside the top-10, joining North Iowa Area Community College at No. 7 and Iowa Central Community College at No. 10.
Along with the team's national rank, the Warriors placed five individuals in the national rankings of their respective weight class. Riley Bettich (Stevensville, IN/Crown Point), back for his second season at Indian Hills, took the No.1 spot in the 133lb weight class.
Returning All-American Isaac Gibbs (Prosper, TX/Rock Hill) checked in at No. 3 at the 125lb weight class while 2024 national qualifiers Arieh Hart (Anna, IL/Anna-Jonesboro) at 141lbs, Yaveion Freeman (Alton, IL/Alton) at 149lbs, and Jaquan East (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) at 174lbs are all ranked No. 4.
The NJCAA poll features four programs highlighted on the Warriors' regular season schedule this year. In addition to NIACC and Iowa Central, the Warriors host No. 1 nationally ranked North Idaho College on November 15 and travel to No. 8 ranked Rochester Community & Technical College (MN) on December 6.
Along with the release of the NJCAA rankings, the Warriors also made history with the release of last week's The Open Mat rankings, taking the No. 1 national rank in the Team Tournament rankings and No. 2 in the Team Dual rankings.
