NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS - WEEK 1
Centerville, IA – Six members of the No. 5 Indian Hills Men's Wrestling squad appeared in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling Individual Rankings, announced Thursday afternoon. The Warriors are currently 3-0 on the year after a 30-13 victory over North Iowa Area Community College Wednesday night.
The Warrior lineup currently features a pair of top-ranked wrestlers who have gone undefeated in three dual matches this year. Caleb Meekins (Livonia, MI/John Glenn) tops the 133lb weight class. Meekins, the top-ranked wrestler in the preseason poll, has impressed the committee with three consecutive dual pins to open the year along with a first-place finish at the Falcon Invitational in Park City, KS.
Along with Meekins, Deron Pulliam (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) maintained the top spot in the 184lb weight class by going 3-0 to start the season, including an 8-3 decision Wednesday night over No. 7 ranked Chase McCleish.
The Warriors also claim the No. 5 wrestler in the 125lb weight class in Chris Busutil (Homestead, FL/South Ridge). Victor Guzman (Rock Island, IL/Rock Island) climbed one spot to No. 6 in the 141lb weight class while Cameron Nesbitt (Champaign, IL/Centennial) held steady at No. 7 in the 165lb weight class. Khris Walton (Merrillville, IN/Merrillville) maintained his No. 6 ranking in the 197lb weight class for the Warriors.
The six individual ranked wrestlers are the most for an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) team, a conference that features a total of 22 ranked wrestlers and six nationally ranked programs.
