Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Veronica Rodriguez (Santiago, Chile/Liceo A-1310 Buin) of the Indian Hills Women's Golf team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Women's Golf Athlete of the Week after a breakthrough performance for the Warriors.

Rodriguez took home medalist honors at the Evangel University Invitational last week in Joplin, MO while leading the Warriors to the team title. Rodriguez becomes the second member of the Warriors to capture medalist honors through the team's first three events of the year while the program has now garnered three ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors.

Rodriguez fired round scores of 78-75-153 to finish nine-over, one stroke ahead of the tournament runner-up from host Evangel. Rodriguez outlasted the 55-player field thanks to a pair of birdies in the final round with a season-best 75 that led to her first-career individual title.

Rodriguez has now secured two top-10 finishes to open her career for the Warriors.
