Lubbock, TX – The Indian Hills Men's Track & Field squad brought home a fourth-place finish at the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, the team's second-highest finish in program history.
The defending national champions heading into the weekend, the Warriors put together an impressive showing in a loaded field of competitors. Indian Hills produced 72 team points to finish behind national champions South Plains College (TX), runners-up New Mexico Junior College, and Iowa Western Community College.
In total, the Warriors brought home 15 All-American honors, including six top-three finishes to place in the top-five in the team standings for just the second time in school history.
Freshman Nichalas Power (Riverton City, Jamaica) tied for the Warriors' highest individual finish of the weekend with a national runner-up performance in the men's 800-meter run. Power clocked a time of 1:50.66 to finish just 0.54 behind the national champion.
Joining Power with a silver medal was sophomore Triston Miller (Columbus Junction, IA/Columbus Junction) who placed second overall in the men's heptathlon. Miler totaled 5,045 points in the event, including the top mark in the high jump and the 60m hurdles.
In addition to Miller's performance in the heptathlon, the sophomore earned All-American honors in the individual 60m hurdle event to earn a pair of podium finishes. Miler has now collected six All-American accolades throughout his illustrious career with the Warriors.
The Warriors took a pair of bronze medals in relay events as both the distance medley relay and 4x400m relay quartets placed third overall. The DMR squad of Power, Justin Gray (Memphis, TN/Southwind), Raynier Galvez (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County), and Cayde de Waal (Brakpan, South Africa/Hoërskool Oosterlig) clocked a time of 9:52.23 to earn a spot on the podium. The 4x400 relay squad of Gray, Power, Galvez, and Supreme Muhammad (Rockford, IL/Winnebago) closed out the national championship event with a third-place finish after clocking a time of 3:09.53.
The 4x800m relay group of Ainsley Brown (Portland, Jamaica), Logan Rosas (Oakville, IA/Mediapolis), Felix Petit Belleville (Paris, France/Uruguay-France), and Jaquan Coke (Kingston, Jamaica/Kingston College) earned All-American honors as well by placing sixth in the event with a time of 7:36.10. With its time, the group broke the Indian Hills school record by 0.16 seconds.
As a program, the Warriors were the lone program at the national meet to place in the top-six of all three relay events.
The men's throws program brought home a bevy of accolades between the shot put and weight throw events. Sophomore Tate Joens (Cedar Rapids, IA/Cedar Rapids Prairie) continued to cement himself as the top thrower in school history, collecting his third silver medal in national championship performacnes. Joens tossed a mark of 19.36m in the weight throw, just 0.01m off of his school record.
The Warriors saw three All-American performances in the weight throw as sophomore Michael Etuma (Iowa City, IA/Iowa City) placed third overall behind Joens while freshman Haydn Stockdale (Cedar Rapids, IA/Cedar Rapids Prairie) placed fourth overall. With his spot on the podium, Etuma became a two-time All-American for the Warriors.
Freshman Kaden Banks (Onalaska, WI/Holmen) earned a third-place finish in the shot put with a personal-best performance of 17.49m while Joens finished fourth overall with a mark of 17.32m.
Galvez, who was named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year on Friday, broke the Indian Hills school record on Saturday with a time of 1:17.08 to earn a bronze medal.
Along with his All-American honor in the DMR, de Waal added individual All-American status in the 1,000m run with a seventh-place finish and a time of 2:30.43.
Freshman Domictress Robinson (Jacksonville, FL/Jean Ribault) placed eighth overall in the 200m dash to secure All-American honors while Gray rounded out the All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in the 400m dash.
As a program, Indian Hills has now produced five consecutive top-10 finishes at the indoor national meet. The Warriors have produced 60 all-time indoor All-Americans dating back to the 2017 season.
