Lubbock, TX – Indian Hills Men's Track & Field Head Coach Brent Ewing has been named the 2025 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Region Indoor Men's Track & Field Coach of the Year, announced Friday at the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Ewing's honor adds to a lengthy list of accolades for the head coach of the 2024 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship squad. Ewing was tapped as the 2024 USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year and has previously been named the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Indoor Men's Coach of the Year in 2023 and the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Outdoor Men's Coach of the Year in 2021.
Following the program's first-ever national title in 2024, Ewing has continued to guide the program as a perennial national contender. The Warriors maintained the No. 1 national ranking in the USTFCCCA polls for a majority of the 2024-25 indoor campaign. At the 2025 NJCAA Region 11 Championships, the Warriors brought home five individual titles to go along with a pair of Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athletes of the Year honors.
In addition to Ewing's honor, sophomore Tate Joens (Cedar Rapids, IA/Cedar Rapids Prairie) has been named the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year while freshman Raynier Galvez (Paterson, NJ/Pasaic County) has been tapped as the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.
