USTFCCCA TEAM RANKINGS | USTFCCCA EVENT SQUAD RANKINGS
Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Track & Field team held on to the top spot of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll for the third consecutive week. The Warriors posted 350.41 team points to hold strong atop the national ratings.
The top-six teams remain unchanged as the Warriors lead No. 2 South Plains College (TX) by nearly 35.00 team points. New Mexico Junior College, Iowa Western Community College, and Iowa Central Community College round out the top-five.
The Warriors, who are also ranked No. 1 in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region TFRI rankings, currently claim five No. 1 nationally ranked event squads after an impressive showing over the weekend at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, IA. Indian Hills claims the top event marks in the 60-meter hurdles, 200m dash, 800m run, the shot put, and the weight throw.
Raynier Galvez (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County) has powered an impressive middle-distance group for the Warriors after breaking the all-time, all-conditions Indian Hills 800m record at Iowa State over the weekend. Galvez is joined by the likes of Nichalas Power (Riverton City, Jamaica), Jaquan Coke (Kingston, Jamaica/Kingston College), and Cayde de Waal (Brakpan, South Africa/Hoërskool Oosterlig) who have anchored one of the top 800m groups across the country.
Sophomore All-American Triston Miller (Columbus Junction, IA/Columbus Junction) leads the hurdles group while also boasting the top heptathlon mark in the nation. The four-time All-American as a freshman ranks as the third-fastest individual in the 60m hurdles this season.
A series of freshman have guided the sprints group for the Warriors, led by Damor Miller's (Kingston, Jamaica) top-10 ranked 60m dash mark and rookies Domictress Robinson (Jacksonville, FL/Jean Ribault) and Supreme Muhammad (Rockford, IL/Winnebago) who claim top-five national marks in the 200m.
Sophomore All-American Tate Joens (Cedar Rapids, IA/Cedar Rapids Prairie) has guided an impressive throws group this year as the defending national runner-up boasts the top weight throw mark in the nation this year. Joens also ranks third in the nation in the shot put.
The Warriors take their No. 1 rank to a pair of events this weekend with the 10th Annual Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, KS and the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, KS.
