Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Nichalas Power (Riverton City, Jamaica) of the No. 1 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Track & Field squad has been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week after a pair of dominant performances over the weekend.

Competing at the Cyclone Open in Ames, IA on Friday, Power posted the second-fastest all-conditions 800-meter mark in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) this year with a time of 1:49.78. Power crossed the finish line in fifth-place overall and finished as the top junior college runner and the top non-Iowa State University runner. Power's mark is good enough for fourth all-time in school history.

Power followed up on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Iowa City, IA to take on the Larry Wieczorek Invitational. The freshman helped lead the 4x400-meter relay squad to a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:12.67, the third-best mark in the nation this year.

The Warriors are back in action January 31 - February 1 at the Washburn Open in Topeka, KS.
