Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Track & Field team is ranked No. 9 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor Poll. The Warriors climbed one spot from its previous rank last week.
The Warriors, who entered the year ranked No. 12 in the first poll of the season, have climbed to No. 9 following an impressive performance at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, KS that included a number of school records and national qualifiers. The Warriors also check in at No. 3 in the USTFCCCA's Midwest Region Ranking, coming in behind Iowa Central Community College and Iowa Western Community College.
In the team Event Squad rankings, the Warriors currently rank inside the top-10 in four different categories. Indian Hills sports the second-best average mark in the men's 100-meter dash and fifth in the men's 200-meter dash. Sophomore Aurel Tchanbi (Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire/College Heleis) leads the Warriors with the top mark in both categories.
The Warriors hold the third-best mark in the men's 800-meter run, led by Rivaldo Marshall's (Kingston, Jamaica/Calabar) time of 1:51.30, and rank seventh overall in the 400-meter dash, led by Woyn Chatman's (Little Rock, AR/Little Rock Central) time of 47.41.
The Warriors are set to compete at the Sooner Invitational in Norman, OK this weekend with action getting underway Friday at the John Jacobs Complex.
