ICCAC TAPS O'CONNOR WITH WEEKLY HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Nick O'Connor (Tiffin, IA/Clear Creek Amana) of the No. 3 Indian Hills Men's Track & Field program has been selected as this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Men's DI Athlete of the Week.

O'Connor, who was also selected as the ICCAC Athlete of the Week during the cross country season, put together an impressive performance at the Mark Schuck Open in Mankato, MN over the weekend. Competing in three events, O'Connor was a part of the school-record distance medley relay squad that posted a time of 10:22.01. O'Connor's split of 4:18 helped power the Warriors to its new program standard.

O'Connor set a new personal best in the men's mile with a time of 4:22.47 and also posted a personal best in the men's 800-meter with a time of 1:58.82. O'Connor's 800-meter time qualified the sophomore for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Championships in March.

The Warriors have now claimed the last three ICCAC Indoor Male Athlete of the Week honors as O'Connor joins Rivaldo Marshall (Kingston, Jamaica/Calabar) and Aurel Tchanbi (Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire/College Heleis).

Next up for Indian Hills is the Bearcat Open in Maryville, MO on Feb. 4.
