Ottumwa -- Indian Hills took a 3-0 halftime lead and then finished off visiting Northeast (Neb.) for a 4-2 win on a day when the Warriors recognized the eight sophomore members of this year's squad.
Diego Sada picked up two of the goals in the opening period, sandwiched around a score by Sacha Vandersteene. Damien Baltide assisted on the first two goals and Takumi Semba got the assist on Sada's second score.
After Northeast notched a goal in the 55th minute, Indian Hills answered with a Baltide goal, his sixth of the fall, which is tied for the team lead. NCC scored on a penalty kick with two minutes remaining to set the final margin.
The win puts IHCC's record at 13-2-2 overall and 7-1-1 in the conference. The victory clinches a first-round bye for the Warriors in the league tournament and assures them a home match in their first postseason test.
