Fort Dodge, Iowa -- Indian Hills went on the road to begin postseason play on Wednesday and nearly pulled off a big upset. Iowa Central's Preston Kamara scored an unassisted goal with just minutes remaining in regulation allowing the Tritons to defeat the Warriors, 2-1, in a first-round tournament battle.
Kamara also scored the first goal for ICCC in the 20th minute, a score that was matched by IHCC's Christian Silva about ten minutes later. After that, the score stayed tied for nearly 60 minutes before Kamara booted home the game-winner for Iowa Central, giving them a spot in Saturday's region semifinals.
Indian Hills had 10 shots, including three each by Joao Brasil and Gerald Valera and two Iowa Central goalkeepers combined to make nine saves.
IHCC keeper Phillipe Catao helped keep his squad in the match with five saves.
The Warriors end the season with a 6-12 record that included seven losses by one or two goals.
