Union, Missouri -- East Central took advantage of a first-half own goal and a stout defense to shut out Indian Hills, 2-0, on Monday. The loss drops the Warriors' record to 0-2 heading into their home opener on Wednesday against Wentworth Military Academy.
The game was scoreless until late in the first half when the Falcons took advantage of the own goal to go on top 1-0. Garrett Priester added an insurance score near the end of the second half to provide the final margin.
The Warriors managed seven shots during the match, but couldn't get one past the East Central keeper.
Wednesday's home match will be the final tuneup for IHCC before the conference season opens with a visit by Iowa Western this Saturday.
