Warriors Bow in Opener in Missouri

Hillsboro, Missouri -- A late second-half goal by Garbiel Ferreira allowed Indian Hills to avoid being shut out in the Warriors' season-opening match at Jefferson College on Monday. The host Vikings defeated Indian Hills 5-1.

Jefferson broke a scoreless tie late in the first half with a goal from Andres Veizaga. They added back-to-back goals early in the second half and IHCC could only manage the tally by Ferreira in the 88th minute.

Jefferson had the advantage in shots, 13-6, with IHCC goalkeeper Ricardo Haro making five saves.

Indian Hills will travel back to Missouri to take on East Central College in Union next Monday.
